For visitors and residents of Zihuatanejo who are literature-lovers, it’s sometimes hard to find reading material in English and other foreign languages. But fear not, there ARE places where you can find both new and used ones books.
New Books
At the airport magazine shop in front of the boarding gates.
Several of the major Hotels in Ixtapa also have best sellers in their gift shops.
Used Books for trade and sale
Many hotels and B&B have their own small book and magazine exchange shelves put together from materials left by guests, so ask at the front desk if you’re looking for reading material.
Joey at Cafe La Marina in the Embarcadero complex in Zihuatanejo, near the pier along Paseo del Pescador – has a shelf of used books for trade and sale – during Winter Season only (November-May).
Jungle Pizza in the Palm Grove behind La Ropa Beach has a book exchange shelf. Books are out only during the winter (dry) season.
Los Tres Amigos Restaurant just back from the church in downtown ZIhuatanejo has a used book exchange/ purchase shelf with a number of paperbacks available.
In Troncones, check out large selection of books to trade at the Cafe de Sol near the bridge (turning right upon arrival at the beach road from the highway).
