Bars and Clubs

After Dark in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico

Many of the Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo hotels stage shows such as the Fiesta Mexicana with typical Mexican and regional dances and costumes. Check local flyers for the latest on some of these shows.

Ixtapa’s nightlife covers the spectrum from hotel piano bars to ultra-modern discotheques and video bars, with the lively fun of Señor Frog´s thrown in for good measure.

Most of Zihuatanejo’s bars are in the core downtown area within a couple of block of the beach.  Take a walk around after dark and pick your favorite spot to unwind or wind up.  Because of downtown noise restrictions, many of the clubs and live music venues in Zihuatanejo tend to close earlier than in Ixtapa (usually by midnight). Canta-bars (for Karaoke) are popular in downtown Zihuatanejo.
