Ixtapa Zihuatanejo has fostered some very talented artists whose works are often on display in the local galleries and expositions. Many restaurants also feature artwork by the local artists in permanent or temporary displays, so keep you eyes open for these. If you’re interested in purchasing, ask the wait staff if the artwork is for sale and about the prices.
Local art is regularly on display, mainly in the late afternoons and evenings, along Fisherman’s walk in downtown Zihuatanejo, in the area of the access to the walkway from the street by Casa Arcadia restaurant. Local artists feature beach art with tropical vegetation and colorful Mexican scenes.
Arte Nativo
A group of local Zihuatanejo artists who have created a space for the creation and experience of art; artists workshop, periodic expositions, construction of easels and stretchers; annually the group publishes a magazine in which is represented the best of the years’ work of the artists who form part of this cooperative.
