Zihuatanejo Medical servicesIxtapa Zihuatanejo comprises a large enough community to offer a wide variety of medical services that are sufficient to cover most eventualities. Many of the local doctors now speak some English and general practitioners Dr. Rogelio Grayeb and Dra. Olivia Montufar (see below for contact details) are very fluent. These two doctors deal with the majority of the medical problems and emergencies that occur to visitors and non-Spanish speakers in the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area. Some of the larger hotels also have English speaking doctors on-call so please check with the front desk if you happen to be staying at any of these facilities and require medical services.

Zihuatanejo’s hospitals include the Hospital General, Social Security Hospital, Clinica de Especialidades, Red Cross Clinic and Clinica Maciel, amongst others, and in Ixtapa we have the Hospital Naval (Naval Hospital) which is considered one of the best medical facilities available to us here. There are a number of general practitioners and specialists in town, as well as medical laboratories, dentists and practitioners of alternative health options.
